Assignment 1: Decision Deconstruction

After watching the lesson videos for this week, utilize the Debt Destroyer Wk3 Workbook or a fresh sheet of paper title it “Decision Deconstruction.”

At the top of your page write out for column headers

  • Outlier
  • In/Out?
  • Driver
  • Change

List out several financial surprises that triggered unexpected inflows and outflows. Once the list is complete, note what the Driver was for each surprise.

Under the Change column, note what you could have done to avoid the surprise, or any change you put in place after you went through the experience.

At the bottom of the sheet, write out:

What are keystone changes I can make to have widespread impacts?

List out a minimum of three (3) activites that you can put in place to avoid future surprises.

In the Debt Destroyer Wk3 Workbook or a second sheet of paper, title the sheet “Decision Construction” and input the headings below:

  • Decision
  • Reflexive Response
  • Prioritization
  • Bold Move

Contemplate future financial decisions you need to make and list them out. What is your gut feeling, or Reflexive Response?

Draw out a priority matrix and measure the urgency and importance. Note in where each decision lands in the priority matrix on your worksheet.

Finally, assign a Bold Move to each decision. Note all decisions under “Do” in the matrix and transfer them to your weekly attack plan.

Assignment 2: Expand the Wedge – Entertainment

In this exercise we will go deeper into your Entertainment spend.

On a fresh sheet of paper, the Debt Destroyer Wk3 Workbook, or the “Debt Destroyer Tools and Templates” spreadsheet (see “Expanding the Wedge” tab), write the title “Expand the Wedge – Entertainment” and write out the total expense from the “Taking Stock” exercise. Expand out the total and itemize the spend.

Identify opportunities to be more intentional in your spend. Using simple calculations, assign a value to any behavioral changes, efficiencies or reductions that you can implement this week.

*Tip – Most banking software will analyze spend on a periodic basis and you can identify the vendors in the description.

Assignment 3: Create your Weekly Attack Plan (5 points)

Take a blank sheet and title it “Weekly Attack Plan.”

Draft three (3) Spend Offenses. Leverage the efficiencies, eliminations and behavioral changes identified in the Value Alignment and Expanding the Wedge exercises, or include any other opportunities to expand your wedge.

Spend Offensive Examples:

  • Plan your weekly groceries
  • Log into an account and scan for expense creep over time (ex. Internet)
  • Go out on the cheap

Draft three (3) Positive Influxes, hustles, initiatives and easy wins to generate cash inflow.

Positive Influx Examples:

  • Keep a service (ex. lawn care) and use the time to drive more business
  • Hold a garage sale
  • Fire a client and double down on valuable clients

Sum all initiatives to calculate your Estimated Free Cash Flow (FCF) potential.

Assignment 4: DAILY Spend Offenses OR Positive Influxes (4 points per day for a max total of 16 points)

For 4 days this week, set your timer for 20 minutes and focus on one (1) Spend Offensive or one (1) Positive Influx. You are not measured by effectiveness, you are simply devoting time and intentionally making bold moves with your money.

Proof pic: Upload a picture of your daily action each day to your fire team channel.

Assignment 5: Review your week and Drive the Wedge (5 points)

At the end of the week, spend some time going back to think about your week.  What worked? What did not? Note your successes and ensure you provide a dollar value.

At the bottom of the sheet, input your Weekly Wedge, your Estimated FCF and Actual Wedge.

Drive the Wedge: Chose an obligation from your Obligation Hit-List and transfer the value of the actual wedge created to the principal balance. This is the single most important step in the entire program.

Make one Bold Move this week to move the needle in any area of your life (For example your health, wealth, relationship, family, work or personal life). It is strongly recommended (though not required) that you make a Bold Move that is directly related to one of your Debt Destruction.

Bold Move Ideas:

  • See a specialist
  • Call 50 prospects a week
  • Book a “notch above” overnight getaway

Proof pic: Upload a photo or video of your Bold Move to your fire team channel. (5 points).
