GET SHIT DONE: Week 03

Welcome to Week 3 of the 12-week GET SHIT DONE Challenge!

Here are your assignments for the week, by category:

1. GSD Lesson

Watch the Overview video plus both lesson videos below (approx 16 minutes total), and post a proof pic/screenshot showing the end of the last video. (2 points)

Veterans just need to watch the Overview video to get their 2 points. The other lesson videos are optional (but recommended) for veterans.

2. GSD Assignments

Assignment 1: Re-read any personality assessment results (4 points)

Re-read the results of any personality tests/assessments that you’ve taken in the past.  If you’ve never taken a personality assessment, you can try a free one here or a more robust paid one here

Proof pic: Upload a picture or screenshoot of the results of one personality assessment to your fire team channel.

Assignment 2: Answer 5 questions (4 points)

Answer the following 5 questions:

– What are your most praised traits?
– What are your most criticized traits?
– What part of your personality draws the most attention from others?
– What types of activities can you happily do longer than anyone else you know?
– What does your wife (or significant other, or friends) find most shocking or maddening about you?

Veterans: Simply review the answers you wrote down previously.

Proof pic: Post your questions and answers (picture, screenshot, etc) to your fire team channel.

Assignment 3: Choose Electrifying Actions (4 points)

Write down one of your dark goals, and below that write: “If I was free to pursue this goal in complete alignment with my true self, I would….”  Then write down 5-10 ideas that are generated from that question (path creation vs path consumption) and circle the one that most electrifies you. Repeat the steps for your remaining goals. 

Veterans: Review the list you made previously and make any needed tweaks or adjustments to the wording to ensure they maintain their weight and inspiration.

Proof pic: Upload a picture of your electrifying actions (or a quick video flipping through the multiple pages) to your fire team channel.

Assignment 4: DAILY ACTION PLAN–Write out your Dark Goals AND your to-do list at the start of each day for 5 days (4 points per day for a max total of 20 points)

For 5 days this week, start your day by writing out your Dark Goals at the top of a sheet of paper, and then write your list of tasks you want to accomplish that day beneath your Dark Goals. 

Veterans: Write out your full-fledged Legend Page and Daily Action Plan for 5 days.

Proof pic: Upload a picture of your Daily Action Plan each day to your fire team channel. (An example of what that might look like is below.)

Assignment 5: Review your week (4 points)

At the end of the week, spend some time going back to think about your week.  What went well?  What could have gone better?  How are you feeling about your week? 

Veterans: Your review must focus on the following 2 questions:

  1. How well did I execute my NBM’s? 
  2. How effective were those NBM’s at achieving my goals? 

Proof pic: Post your Weekly Review to your fire team channel. Some suggestions for acceptable formats include: a photo of your hand-written page, a screenshot of your typed assessment, or a video.

GSD Lab (optional)

Watch the video below and complete the assignment. This assignment is optional and not scored. It is intended to help you experiment with some more advanced techniques to boost your productivity.

GSD Lab Assignment: Review and refine your Pyramid

Watch the video above and make any changes needed to your 3 Pyramid elements, in order to help you feel a better sense of clarity and inspiration for moving forward.

Proof pic: Post some comments about those revisions to your fire team channel.

3. BOLD MOVE

Make one Bold Move this week to move the needle in any one of the 6 pillars of your life (Health, Wealth, Relationship, Family, Work, Personal). It is strongly recommended (though not required) that you make a Bold Move that is directly related to one of your Dark Goals.

Proof pic: Upload a photo or video of your Bold Move to your fire team channel, and add your Bold Move for this week to your Dark Goal Tracker worksheet under the related Pillar. (5 points).

4. SPECIAL OPS

Your Special Ops assignment for this week is to complete ONE of the three Special Ops listed below, and to substantiate by uploading a proof pic or video to your fire team channel (3 points).

* Special Op #1: Eat some offal (stomach, tripe, brains, heart, liver, tongue, kidneys).

* Special Op #2: Take your kids standup paddleboarding.

* Special Op #3: Plant some veggies or herbs.

5. MOOT

Join us Friday at 3 PM Central Time for our weekly Moot. Zoom link and password will be posted in Slack each Friday.

Proof pic: Upload a photo or screenshot of the Moot to show you attended the live Moot (4 points) or watched the replay (2 points).
