GET SHIT DONE: Week 07

Welcome to Week 7 of the 12-week GET SHIT DONE Challenge!

Here are your assignments for the week, by category:

1. GSD Lesson

Watch the Overview video plus all 3 lesson videos below (approx 25 minutes total), and post a proof pic/screenshot showing the end of the last video. (2 points)

Veterans just need to watch the Overview video to get their 2 points. The other lesson videos are optional (but recommended) for veterans.

2. GSD Assignments

Assignment 1: Create your new daily routine (4 points)

Take out a sheet of paper and draw a line down the middle, and on one side write down your current daily routine and on the other side write down a new daily routine that takes into account the 4 containers. Then on a fresh piece of paper write down your new routine and put it somewhere you’ll see it every day, maybe even frame it.

Veterans: Simply review your previously-established daily routine and make any modifications if necessary.

Proof pic: Upload a picture of your daily routine to your fire team channel.

Assignment 2: Identify your ground activities (4 points)

Take out a piece of paper and write “The Ground” at the top, and write down a list of activities that restore you.  Write at the speed of thought (‘WATSOT’) until the page is full, then circle the top 5-10 activities.

Veterans: Simply review your list of Ground activities, and add any new ones that come to mind, or remove any that don’t stoke your fire any longer.

Proof pic: Upload a picture of your finalized list of Ground activities to your fire team channel.

Assignment 3: Schedule your ground activities (4 points)

Pull out your calendar, and book the minimum schedule FOR THE YEAR.

Proof pic: Upload a picture of your calendar (or a piece of it) that shows your scheduled ground activities for at least the next month.

Assignment 4: DAILY ACTION PLAN–Write out your dark goals, one positive affirmation, AT LEAST ONE STATEMENT OF GRATITUDE, and your to-do list at the start of each day for 5 days (4 points per day for a max total of 20 points)

For 5 days this week, start your day by writing out your dark goals and one positive affirmation at the top of a sheet of paper, and then write your to-do list of tasks you want to accomplish that day beneath your dark goals.

Assignment 5: Review your week (4 points)

At the end of the week, spend some time going back to think about your week.  What went well?  What could have gone better?  How are you feeling about your week?

Also, spend some time listing out the items you will want to accomplish for the upcoming week.

Veterans: For your review, ask yourself the following questions:

  1. How well did I execute my NBM’s? 
  2. How effective were those NBM’s at achieving my goals?

GSD Lab (optional)

Watch the video below and complete the assignment. This assignment is optional and not scored. It is designed to help you experiment with some more advanced techniques to boost your productivity.

GSD Lab Assignment: Commit to a 30-Day Personal Challenge

Take out a sheet of paper and brainstorm any ideas for possible 30-day challenge candidates you can commit to. Then circle the one that jumps out at you the most, and take the first action (Day 1) of your 30-Day Challenge.

Proof pic: Upload a photo showing or explaining the 30-day commitment you’ve made to your fire team channel.

3. BOLD MOVE

Make one Bold Move this week to move the needle in any one of the 6 pillars of your life (Health, Wealth, Relationship, Family, Work, Personal). It is strongly recommended, but not required, that you make a Bold Move that is directly related to one of your Dark Goals.

Proof pic: Upload a photo or video of your Bold Move to your fire team channel, and add your bold move for this week to your Dark Goal Tracker worksheet under the related pillar. (5 points).

4. SPECIAL OPS

Your Special Ops assignment for this week is to complete ONE of the three Special Ops listed below, and to substantiate by uploading a proof pic or video to your fire team channel (3 points).

* Special Op #1: Hike barefoot.

* Special Op #2: Climb a tree with your child.

* Special Op #3: Destroy a bag of bread.

5. MOOT
